Here’s a new YouTuber Cover Week video! It’s a cover of WikiRiffs’ “Sara Sommerfeld”, which is a truly beautiful song. Hopefully I did it justice!

YouTuber Cover Week - 29th of May
Hey! So I posted a video about a YouTube music project I’m doing next week to see if anyone else would be interested in joining in, but I missed out a few things, so here they are!
In order to allow the cover videos to be shared around easily and be more widely viewed (this will hopefully be an exercise in mass cross promotion) there are a few things we can do. First of all is tagging for Tumblr and Twitter (or other sites you may use, these are just the ones I do), if we use the tags #YCW and #YouTuberCoverWeek when sharing our videos, then they will be easy to follow and keep track of. If you use Tumblr, be sure to follow those tags, and if you’re on Twitter, make sure you check it as much as possible.
As far as YouTube goes, I will be personally putting “YouTuber Cover Week” in the titles of all my videos, and making sure I provide links to the original songs, and the YouTuber being covered, so it’s kinda like a huge web of musical shoutouts. If you want to do the same, I’m sure it would be highly appreciated by everyone involved.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything. If you have any further suggestions, or questions you want answered, I will be replying to all the comments in my YouTube video’s comment section. Also please let me know if you’re planning to be involved!
Thanks again guys, hopefully this all works out!
YouTube Project Activate!

Seriously, if you aren’t subscribed to Will on YouTube you should be. I’m really looking forward to this (and will hopefully be covering a couple of songs myself). Check it out, folks.
Garwick Glen Halt Mashup (WikiRiffs Unplugged)
David Brauer suggested I do an acoustic version of Garwick Glen Halt when I asked on Twitter, but I thought it was a pretty short song for an unplugged video so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and tack on the acoustic Thymosins as well.
Check the video description on YouTube for links to the original songs and more information.
Here’s the second half of the channel swap with Chazz Repton: my cover of her band Not Entirely Unlike Tea’s brilliant Trock songNoblest of Them All. This was a lot of fun to do and while the feel of the song (and the video) ended up a lot like the Matt Gaydos cover I did earlier in the year, I still think it’s pretty good :D
You can listen to the original Noblest of Them All on Chazz’s YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7A8s8BLJ0k
Collaboration time! You lucky devils. Here’s the wonderful Chazz Repton performing her very own random article song, “Anterior Horn of the Lateral Ventricle”. I think she did an amazing job, especially with an article about neurobiology. Jeebus.
Lyrics are in the video description on YouTube.
The acoustic guitar part from this song is basically cannibalised from a song called ‘Childish’ which I wrote in college. The lyrics, of course, are original - the chords are a little changed, and the guitar solo is new. Sometimes I just need an old idea to get something new started!
A commenter who goes by ‘Kimrichaaards’ on YouTube left the following comment on the video for ‘Midwest Federal’:
“This is just me, but I think that I prefer your videos where you just sit in front of the camera with a mic and your acoustic guitar.”
This song needed a little more than just that, but I tried to take a more stripped-back approach to the video this time around.
Real Questions for Real Nerdfighters, a Nerdfighter challenge
1. Since early 2010, when I was introduced to Vlogbrothers by a someone who is now my wife. I believe it was around the time Henry Green was born, as I recall a few very adorable videos in the months that followed.
2. Out of (at the time of writing) 944 videos? Tough call. From Hank it’d have to be either Adorable Puppy Injury or Internet Sensation B$%CH; I’m not sure what my favourite of John’s Vlogbrothers videos is but I can’t get enough of Crash Course: World History*.
3. All of the charities. I have yet to donate to any of them, because I has a poor, but charitable work is A Good Thing.
4. At the present time it’s a coin toss between “I hope I did okay” and “Dude. NO EDGE.”
5. A sense of community beyond day-to-day social interactions, and a chance to expand horizons.
6. Hank drinking any kind of alcohol led to some pretty hilarious results. Also the peeps-eating challenge with Punk Rock Curd Fighter Nurt.
7. Anglerfish, Strange Charm (or Protons and Neutrons or whatever it got called), and I Know (A Song in Ten Words).
8. ‘Knock knock.’ ‘Who’s there?’ ‘To.’ ‘To who?’ ‘No, no. To WHOM.’
9. The Fault In Our Stars. I believe it’s the most mature of his books, the most involving, and the most emotionally impactful. Also, despite the fact that John had been working on the novel in various forms for around 10 years, it’s the book he’s written since I was introduced to nerdfightaria - so I feel more involved having known about it from the beginning of its existence.
10. Douches Fail To Be Articulate.
*Unless I am the mongols.
I drew WikiRiffs as a sketch. This was referenced from dailybooth (link to be added when I’m on a computer) and is an adorable partner to his wife’s sketch from last week. I think I may do a combined image of both of them one day.
Most intriguing are Jonny’s fingers, the way that first joint bends, I’ve always found it intriguing, oddly bending fingers, I drew ton wait’s hands/fingers once, his are gorgeous.
Any way, you cann find Jonny on the youtubes http://youtube.com/wikiriffs he writes songs based on random wikipedia articles. One of his most recent videos ead an introductory video, go watch it.
I think this is the first time I’ve ever been drawn on the internet.
Getting To Know You…
Matt Gaydos recently made a video introducing himself, so I figured I’d do something similar and make it a video response. Watch if you want to know about me, and feel free to ask me stuff in the comments! =)
